UBCD4Win is a bootable recovery CD that contains software used for repairing, restoring, or diagnosing almost any computer problem. Our goal is to be the most complete and easy to use free computer diagnostic tool. Almost all software included in UBCD4Win are freeware utilities for Windows®. Some of the tools inlcuded are “free for personal use” copies so users need to respect these licenses. A few of the tools included in UBCD4Win are paid for and licensed software owned by UBCD4win. On occasion we work with software companies/authors for permission to include their software in our download or have requested their software better support PE. Users can freely share copies of UBCD4Win with friends but selling UBCD4Win for a profit is not acceptable. We have worked hard for many years helping people for free with this project, others should not make money from our hard work. If you are a dialup user having a hard time downloading UBCD4Win, please visit our ordering page. UBCD4Win is based on Bart’s PE©. Bart’s PE© builds a Windows® “pre-install” environment CD, basically a simple Windows® XP booted from CD. UBCD4Win includes network support and allows you the ability to modify NTFS volumes, recover deleted files, create new NTFS volumes, scan hard drives for viruses, etc. Our download includes almost everything you need to repair your system problems. This project has been put together to be the ultimate recovery cd and not a replacement OS (Operating System). Please visit the “List of Tools” page for a complete list of what is included in the latest version of UBCD4Win.

FTP client that’s included in Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.x will let you run a list of command automatically once you connect to a specified FTP server.
For example, let’s say that you want to log on to ftp.microsoft.com FTP server, login anonymously, download dirmap.txt and quit.
* Create a text file called ftpcmnds (for example) and include following lines in it:
open ftp.microsoft.com
anonymous
guest
ascii
get dirmap.txt
quit
* Go to the “Command Prompt” (or “DOS Prompt”) and run the following command:
ftp -s:ftpcmnds

This tutorial section deals with mysqldump which is a tool to import and export MySQL databases.
It can be used to back up a database or to move database information from one server to another.
1. Export A MySQL Database
This example shows you how to export a database. It is a good idea to export your data often as a backup.
|
Replace username, password and database_name with your MySQL username, password and database name.
File FILE.sql now holds a backup of your database, download it to your computer.
2. Import A MySQL Database
Here, we import a database. Use this to restore data from a backup or to import from another MySQL server.
Start by uploading the FILE.sql file to the server where you will be running this command.
|
Replace the parts in red with your own information.
This powerful, easy to use command has many uses. Let’s say you wanted to switch web hosting providers.
Simply export your data on the old provider’s server and import it on your account with the new host.

We’ve seen some instances where a chat message masquerading as a link to an image file instead leads to a piece of malware. The chat messages may look similar to this:

If you receive something like this through a Skype chat message, do not be alarmed. Instead, ignore it and block the sender. Do not click on the link or open the file that the link points to.
When executed, however, the Trojan downloader creates a Microsoft Studio Files folder in the Program Files directory, populating it with a copy of itself (lsass.exe) as well as a script file (vcdg.bat) that helps it bypass the Windows firewall. The program also changes the Windows registry to enable automatic execution upon Windows startup and to bypass the Windows firewall. Following these steps, the program downloads files into the infected system.
The Skype security team would like to remind users to keep their antivirus software updated and maintain a skeptical eye toward chat messages that don’t seem quite right and contain internet links, whether they appear to come from friends or total strangers.
